Bike Shop Mechanic (Missoula)

Big Sky Bikes is looking to hire an experienced mechanic to fill out our service team for the 2024 season and beyond! Typical tasks as a mechanic will include running estimates on bikes in for repair, building new bikes, and completing all types of services ranging from basic safety checks all the way to full tear downs and suspension service.
The ideal candidate should have: Minimum of 5 years full time bike shop service department experience, 8-10 years of experience is preferred Familiarity with servicing mountain, road, and e-bikes.
Should be familiar with diagnosing and repairing all common components and systems on bikes produced within the last 10-15 years.
Proficiency in the following tasks: Diagnosing and completing 50hr suspension services on all major brands Hydraulic brake bleeds Hub, headset, bottom bracket bearing services and replacement Diagnosing and servicing dropper posts Comfortable working unsupervised Strong critical thinking skills and the ability to think outside the box when diagnosing non standard issues Great customer service and communication skills Strong attention to detail Your work schedule will be flexible but we will need you on occasional Saturdays.
Compensation will be dependent on experience but applicants can expect $35k to $45k per year with paid holidays, vacation and sick days.
