NOW HIRING: Line Cook (Part-time)

Boxcar Bistro is looking for a part-time Line Cook to join our team! Boxcar Bistro is open Tuesday - Saturday, 4 - 9 PM.
We are looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the exact Chef’s specifications and to set up stations for menu.
Line cook duties will consist of assisting the Executive Chef, Sous Chef and Lead Line cook with their daily tasks.
The successful candidate will play a key role in contributing to our customer satisfaction and acquisition goals.
*Job Responsibilities* * Setting up and stocking stations with all necessary supplies.
Making sure you have your “mise en place”.
* Preparing food for service (e.
g.
chopping vegetables, butchering meats, or preparing sauces) * Cooking menu items in cooperation with the rest of the kitchen staff.
* Answer, report and follow Executive, Sous, or Lead line cooks instructions.
* Properly cleaning and sanitizing the station while taking care of leftover foods.
* Stock inventory appropriately.
* Ensure that food comes out simultaneously, in high quality and in a timely fashion.
* Comply with nutrition and sanitation regulations and safety standards.
* Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and customers.
*Requirements* * High School diploma or GED * Bachelor’s (preferred) or Associate’s degree in Culinary Arts is advantageous.
* Proven cooking experience.
* A Serve Safe / Food Handlers license or Certification.
* Sound knowledge of food health and safety regulations.
* The ability to work as part of a team.
* The ability to stand for extended periods of time.
* The ability to work in a high volume and fast paced environment.
* Excellent communication and leadership skills.
* Exceptional organizational, time management and problem-solving skills.
