_*In 2023, Sorensen Transport celebrates 50 years serving the communities of Montana, South Dakota, Idaho, Washington, Alberta, and British Columbia.
*_ Sorensen Transport is seeking highly motivated Class A CDL drivers in the Missoula area for local and regional positions hauling Bulk liquid commodities including hazardous and non-hazardous materials.
Driving positions require the loading, unloading, and transportation of resins, fuels, gases, and other chemicals to customer locations located in South Dakota, Montana, Idaho, Washington, and Oregon in a safe and efficient manner.
Canadian eligibility is highly recommended but not required for this position.
2+ years’ experience with Class A CDL is preferred, but not required.
Tanker, doubles/triples, and hazmat endorsement *are required *before full time employment can begin.
Extensive orientation and training will be provided before time in the field is spent alone.
Drivers enjoy newer, well cared for Kenworth, Peterbilt, Western Star, Mack & Volvo trucks.
Drivers are provided with Samsung Tablets to use with the Samsara ELD and camera systems as well as document submission and retrieval.
*Requirements:* - Valid Class A CDL with Hazmat, Doubles/Triples, Tanker Endorsement.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Ability to work maximum hours allowed under DOT hours of service regulations.
- Comfortable in winter driving conditions.
- 1-2 nights per week are spent in the sleeper depending on trip requirements.
*Job Duties Include:* · Transporting materials as directed by dispatch from one location to another in a safe and courteous manner.
· Operating the vehicle with utmost caution in a professional manner.
· All drivers are expected to follow all local, state, federal laws, and all company policies.
· Maintain a proper log of hours per FMCSR 395.
– ELD’s are provided by the company.
· Operate vehicle in extreme driving conditions, i.
e.
, snow, ice and heavy traffic.
· Operating the vehicle with considerations for its size – over length commercial motor vehicle, weight – in excess of the standard 80,000 CMV weight limits, with regard to the commodities - Hazardous materials, and tanker considerations – fluids in motion that you as the driver are transporting.
· Apply knowledge of commercial driving skills in maneuvering vehicle at varying speeds in difficult situations, such as heavy traffic, inclement weather, in and out of close-fitting loading and unloading areas.
Capable of backing up equipment, including but not limited to; long distances, around corners, poor surface conditions.
· Be familiar with all operations of a tank trailer including, but not limited to proper venting.
Be capable of safely climbing ladders to access top of tank and climbing in and out of the truck with frequency.
· Capable of performing all work function, including but not limited to; bending, stooping, kneeling; pushing and pulling all types of hoses; lifting and maneuvering hoses; walking in and around all types of equipment as required.
· Process and submit all paperwork and documents efficiently and neatly.
· Load and unload product per customers’ request, following all of their individual facility rules and expectations.
· Work in a professional manner, being respectful of other employees and our customers.
· Attending all required safety meetings and trainings.
