*Full Job Description*
Lead Teacher : 4 year-old age group
40 hours, Monday through Friday 8:00 am - 4:00 pm
*Position:*
The teacher will be responsible for planning and implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum for children ages 4 to 5 years.
We prefer a degree in early childhood education or a closely related field plus at least 2 years of teaching young children, but candidates with equal training, experience, and education will be considered.
The contract would begin ASAP and end on the last day of school, June 5, 2024.
There is also the opportunity to work over the 2024 summer.
*Rate of pay*
Pay for this position is based on the teacher's ECP level, starting at $17.
77/hour.
Teachers receive a raise every year they remain at MCS, and their pay is increased as they progress higher on the ECP.
*Compensation*
Teachers
* are eligible to participate in FSA (flexible savings account) for reimbursement of medical services and prescriptions or our DPC (Direct Primary Care) program through Costcare
* Receive weekly professional time to plan curriculum and projects, assemble and write portfolios, and communicate with parents
* Receive PTO, continuing education support, as well as planning time weekly, and monthly classroom funds
*Experience and Qualifications:*
We are seeking a creative, organized teacher to work as part of the Missoula Community School teaching team.
Experience with young children in an educational setting and knowledge of child development is needed.
The qualified candidate will hold a strong desire to be involved in creating a vital and unique education in a progressive, community-oriented environment that weaves elements of mindfulness and compassion into the daily routine and curriculum.
The Teacher must be prepared to use the MCS philosophy as a framework to assist in all areas of the class including activities and field trips.
They will respond sensitively and creatively to the needs of individual children and families, and above all, ensure the physical and emotional safety of all children.
This person must relate well to children and adults, and possess qualities of maturity, enthusiasm, patience and good judgment as well as excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ongoing professional training throughout the year is required.

* complete in-person approved CPR and 1st Aid courses
* provide documentation of immunizations as required by the state licensing agency
* complete a background check
* have experience working with young children
