We want students to come out of our programs feeling more connected to their environment, with each other, and with themselves.
Throughout the course of the week at camp your child will have fun, explore the natural world, make new friends, practice land-based living skills, gain nature awareness skills, learn to work with their hands, and spend time outside on the land all day.
Each week has different themes and these topics are covered in all camps: Nature awareness skills – What does it mean to be nature-connected? We will learn skills and practices that one can use anywhere to connect to the land, self, and others.
Survival skills- How can one feel more confident and capable in the wild? We will investigate fire, water, and shelter survival skills in a fun and engaging way.
Ecology and natural relationships- What happens during the morning in nature versus the afternoon? We will heighten our senses and tune into the cycles and patterns in nature.
Hazards – What are some hazards that are important to be aware of in the natural world? We will think about plants, animals, and exposure to elements as we explore the landscape Land-based living skills – What does the land provide that can support us living, learning, surviving, and thriving? We will explore a variety of land-based living skills depending on the week your child is signed up for camp.
