*DESCRIPTION:*
Maintaining, minor and complex repairing, and troubleshooting vehicles and equipment including, but not limited to:
* Standard vehicle maintenance,
* Preventative maintenance,
* Diagnosing complex mechanical and electronic issues,
* Completing complex mechanical and detailed mechanical inspections & repairs,
* Replacing defective components,
* When applicable, use welding skills and knowledge of metals to complete vehicle repairs,
* Make proper use of both power and hand tools to repair or replace defective components of Company fleet and other equipment.
*REQUIREMENTS:*
* Demonstrated aptitude and applied experience in mechanical repair of automotive gas or diesel engines including:
* Routine preventative maintenance, which should include oil changes, brake and tire work.
* Basic diagnostics and repairs, including AC and electrical systems.
* Minimum of 1+ years of experience with mechanical repairs and diagnostics on heavy duty and medium duty equipment or a combination of technical school education & experience.
* Must possess own Mechanics tool set.
* Can satisfactorily pass a background test.
* Meets or exceeds the medical standards of the U.
S.
Dept.
of Transportation and can satisfactorily pass a drug and alcohol test.
* Must be able to communicate effectively with vendors, clients and employees as needed to perform essential duties and job functions such as troubleshooting issues.
* Ability to follow written and/or oral instructions.
* Capable of working independently with minimal direction.
*PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS:*
* Class A CDL.
* Previous experience with similar equipment and vehicles.
* Vocational or Technical Certifications.
