Responsibilities:
- Assist veterinarians in providing medical care to animals
- Perform veterinary critical care procedures under the supervision of a veterinarian
- Handle and restrain animals during examinations and procedures
- Administer medications and treatments as directed by veterinarians
- Provide basic pet care, including feeding, grooming, and exercise
- Assist with dog training and behavior modification techniques
- Perform pet grooming tasks, such as bathing and nail trimming
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment
- Follow aseptic technique to prevent the spread of infection
- Collect and prepare laboratory samples for analysis
- Operate X-ray equipment and assist with radiographic procedures
- Monitor patients during surgery and recovery
- Maintain accurate records of patient treatments and progress
Requirements:
- Certified Veterinary Technician (CVT) or Veterinary Technician (VT) license preferred
- Experience working in a veterinary clinic or animal hospital setting
- Proficient in animal handling techniques and restraint methods
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology and procedures
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control protocols
- Ability to operate laboratory equipment and perform basic diagnostic tests
- Competence in taking X-rays and assisting with radiographic procedures
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced environment with attention to detail
- Will be required to follow Fear Free Protocols, training will be provided if not certified prior to employment.
