Job Overview: A Driver Examiner is a public facing, customer service driven position.
Duties include greeting customers, answering questions, issuing ID cards, driver’s licenses, commercial driver’s licenses, and overseeing the testing of those licenses.
There are multiple software programs that require attention to detail.
You would be ensuring the safety and well-being of Montana citizens by confirming proper identification documents, successful completion of tests and determining when additional documentation is required.
The incumbent must be willing and able to work outdoors in inclement weather.
There will be day travel to other exam stations about 1-2 days a week and requiring the ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
This is a modified position, legislatively funded through the legislature every two years.
Minimum Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent.
One year experience working with computerized data systems.
One year customer service experience.
One year of cash handling experience.
Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver License (CDL) for testing and training purposes, within the first year.
Other combinations of education and experience will be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Special Instructions: The selection procedures to be used in evaluating the applicant's qualification may include, but are not limited to, an evaluation of the résumé, a structured interview, performance test, academic transcripts, reference/background checks and fingerprint checks.
