Responsibilities:
Ability to work remotely in assigned location / region;
Ability to travel via personal vehicle or AWARE vehicle to designated cities / regions to meet with clients and provide services;
Experience in assessment and observational skills;
Experience planning and implementing TR interventions to assist clients in increasing independence in lifestyle;
Experience researching and applying evidence-based practices in Therapeutic Recreation;
Design TR protocols, session plans and processes;
Implements interventions that are sensitive to the client age, cultural background, stage of development, limitations of disabling conditions, skill and experience level;
Document and evaluate services for efficiency and quality;

Talents, skills, and abilities:
Applicant will have a BS degree in Health and Human Service field such as Psychology, Social Work or Nursing.
Candidate will agree to obtain additional coursework and education to meet the NCTRC standards to obtain their CTRS.
Recreation Therapist - Candidate has the ability to obtain tuition advancement as outlined in AWARE Policy.
Recreation Therapist - Candidate will complete a NCTRC approved internship.
Must be able to obtain national certification of CTRS within one year of obtaining required education and coursework to meet eligibility.
Experience in Therapeutic Recreation or adaptive recreation is highly preferred as well as experience working in the human health field.
Must hold or be able to obtain a current MT driver’s license.
