The Computer User Support Specialist is to provide helpdesk and end-user computing support, both hardware and software, for Government Clients using program specific and COTS applications.
Manage user accounts and modify permissions as required.
Support end-users to efficiently and effectively use Information Technologies and resources to provide them with expert assistance, guidance and training.
Manage the scheduling of conference rooms for various activities to include working groups, IPTs, teleconferences, software testing.
Sign in guests and provide security/access control to the facility.
Troubleshooting:
Assist with resolution or escalation of tier 0-3 work orders for the MTF.
Operating Systems:
Must be proficient in current operating systems for workstations as defined by DHA and should possess a fundamental understanding of current and legacy server operating systems and client/server relationships including trusts and account permissions.
These operating systems are primarily Microsoft but may include operating systems from various vendors.
Applications:
Performs first line support for user applications.
Hardware:
Resolves hardware related problems and can install, repair, replace, or upgrade most computer components; this includes computer peripherals and printers.
Networks
Possess, maintain, and learn rudimentary networking fundamentals and technologies including but not limited to: TCP/IP, VOIP, broadband, telephony, and legacy or analog systems and be able to perform basic network analysis and troubleshooting.
Equipment:
Assist with completing annual hardware and software inventory processes; assist in the movement of unserviceable IS equipment to DRMO; and process or move new inventory items as necessary.
Facilities:
Assist in maintaining the cleanliness and organization of all the Medical Information Services (MIS) common areas (storage room, switch room, server room, etc.
)
Other Duties:
assist other Medical IMD Flight Staff on various projects, duties, and activities, as requested and reasonable and within the scope of the IMD flight mission.
Education
High School diploma or General Educational Development (GED) equivalency.
Completion of an IT training program is required.
Experience
Minimum of 2 years previous computer user support experience required.
License, Cert or Registration
Completed and maintained Basic Life Support Training is required prior to employment start date and will be maintained by the employee at no additional cost to the Government.
Completed and maintained at a minimum Security + CE certification IAW DoD 8570.

Must possess an excellent understanding of technical issues; possess the ability to communicate verbally and in written form effectively and the ability to work within U.

Experience providing help desk support functions.
Demonstrate and apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, verbal, or diagram form.
Possess problem solving and analytical skills, and the capability to prioritize daily work schedule in keeping with productivity standards.
To perform this job successfully, an individual will have knowledge of the Microsoft Windows Operating System, Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), and knowledgeable of Web and Network architectures
