Assistant Manager
Assistant Manager to the Station Manager of a convenience store requires you to be the manager when the Station Manager is absent, including a food court.
Duties include to recruit, interview, supervise, and train station/store personnel and provide quality customer service.
Oversee station/store operations including checkout, merchandising, layout, product inventory, cleanliness, some bookkeeping, and maintenance.
Strong emphasis on food execution/safety programs, control cash and merchandise shrinkage.
Responsible for enforcing all company policies and procedures.
Cash handling and daily paperwork.
COGs and gross profit margins.
Assistant Managers are also required to be a point of positivity for the staff and to encourage others.
Knowledge, Skills, and Other Qualifications Required:
Detail-oriented, retail is DETAIL
Customer service-oriented
Work with deadlines
Communicate effectively with customers, management, associates, and vendors
Lift, carry, push, pull up to 60lbs
Occasionally bend, kneel, squat and reaching over shoulder
Work in cooler and freezer
Requires use of extension ladder
Demonstrates energy, willingness, leadership and enthusiasm to encourage and direct crew to provide best customer service
Demonstrates proper food storage procedures and the use of food storage safety guidelines with regard to FIFO and dating of all food products received by vendors.
Demonstrates the ability to prepare and place orders according to expected sales goals
Demonstrates ability to manage receiving orders and temperature control as to what product condition arrives
Ability to identify theft
Demonstrates ability to calculate costs
Demonstrates ability to perform and delegate weekly cleaning duties
Must be 18 years or older.
Must pass a background check (no burglary or theft).
Must pass alcohol training and Underground Storage Tank Operator training.
Must be willing to work weekends and evening shifts.
