_Entry Level Woodworker _ Specialty Woodworks Company is a very well established (1981), safety conscious, high-end door and cabinet company located in Hamilton, Montana.
We are seeking to fill an entry- level woodworking position.
Wage is $15.
00 - $18.
00 per hour depending upon experience.
Benefits include paid holidays, life and disability insurance and production bonuses.
Specialty Woodworks will provide extensive training on all aspects of this job.
JOB DESCRIPTION: ENTRY LEVEL WOODWORKER Summary: Cut, laminate, size and assemble wooden pieces.
Set up and operate a variety of woodworking machines such as table saws, cut-off saws, jointers, planer and glue press.
Work includes surfacing, cutting and laminating lumber in preparation for fabricating parts.
Responsibilities: Lumber Grader: Has to grade and separate boards for different requirements.
Has to know what defects can be tolerated depending on where wood is to be used.
Fork Lift Operator: Has to be able to operate both a gas and electric fork lift in a safe manner.
Required to know general and safety maintenance of machines.
Drying Shed Monitor: Has to keep temperature at certain level and control process of wood.
Has to know how to use and operate moisture meter.
Wood Laminator: Requires knowledge of how to operate air actuated press and read grain in boards to glue together properly.
Must also be lumber grader to grade out defective wood before laminating.
Must be able to use moisture meter properly.
(Every board is measured for moisture content and matched with another before laminating).
Has to learn how to mix and handle glue.
Planer Operator/Set Up: Requires knowledge of planer machine.
Setting for thickness and feed speed.
Must be able to read grain to know what direction to feed wood into machine.
Radial Arm Saw Operator: Requires lumber grading skills.
Must be able to read tape measure accurately.
Has to know machine and learn how to use it safely.
Jointer Operator: Requires knowing how to read the grain in the boards to feed them in the right direction.
Has to learn to set up machine and adjust for depth of cut.
Table Saw Operator: Must know safe operation of table saw and its setup-- including automatic power feed.
Door Assembler: Must be able to assist in the assembly of over 12 different standard styles of doors and whatever custom designs arise.
Must know door terminology and our efficient system.
Quality jointery is stressed.
Drum/Wide Belt Sander Tailer: Will work with Drum Sander operator receiving parts as they come out of the sander and restacking them on carts.
Finish Sander: Must know how to sand a door to our high quality standards.
Will be able to repair defects in doors (this is an important step that reflects our quality), repairing loose knots, missing knots, splits, grain tear-out, pitch pockets, worm holes, Work Context: \* Normal work hours are Monday - Thursday 6:30a.
