VCI is currently seeking an onsite full-time entry level construction engineer/construction manager at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories in Hamilton, Montana.
This person will assist in monitoring the construction contractor's work effort for compliance with project contract requirements on a non-personal services basis.
This project consists of approximately 56,000 gross square feet (GSF) of space for microscopy and their associated laboratories, as well as office and administrative space for other activities including campus police and personnel support.
The ideal candidate would be a recent graduate of a construction management program or a construction engineering technology program looking to learn the business of federal construction from inception through closeout.
*REQUIRED RESPONISBILITIES*
The onsite full-time entry level construction engineer/construction manager will be required to perform the following:
* Assist the Contracting and CQM Staff on daily/weekly project tasks.
* Assist the NIH Project Officer with various administrative duties such as compiling data for metrics associated with monthly presentations for Steering Committee
* Attend project meetings and keep meeting minutes for distribution to the Project Team.
* Generates and binds reports.
* Must be able to execute assignments of a complex nature with guidance from other members of the project team.
* Must possess working knowledge of reporting tools and software for the purpose of presenting plans, concepts, strategies, and theories to clients in an efficient manner.
* Primarily responsible for word processing and data entry.
*REQUIREMENTS*
The onsite full-time entry level construction engineer/construction manager must possess:
* Bachelors or Associates degree in engineering or construction management.
* Must possess Communication, Language, and Software Skills with the ability to utilize a variety of software programs to monitor, update, and produce work products and compile data and records by applying both knowledge of the construction industry and computer literacy.
A familiarity with BlueBeam, AutoCAD, and MS Office products are preferred.
* The construction engineer/construction manager shall possess a basic/working knowledge of construction practices and be capable of learning and building upon this knowledge to assist in implementing the various plans set forth on the project including Quality Assurance; Safety, Time, Cost, Change and Information Management.
* Familiarity with the site operations of a General and Sub-contractor and the process of managing a building construction operation is preferred.
* Currently possess or will be able to achieve OSHA 30-hour construction safety training within 30 days of hire.
* Must be able to communicate fluently in English.
* Must be able to pass a federal background check.
