*Job Title: *Estimator *Location: *Missoula, MT *Company Overview:* Prospect Construction is a Heavy Civil Contractor that specializes in water and wastewater treatment plants, hydraulic structures/facilities, shoring systems, large concrete tanks, pump stations/process facilities, dewatering, major excavations, structural steel, process equipment, and mechanical systems.
Prospect began as a General Contractor in 1998, with our first office location in Puyallup Washington.
Over the last few decades, Prospect has coupled its expertise in complex projects with its vast level of self-performance to grow into one of the premier treatment plant contractors in the Northwest.
This continued growth has allowed Prospect to bring our expertise into new geographical regions, with the establishment of our office in Missoula, Montana in the Fall of 2020 and the opening of our Sheridan, Wyoming Office in the Summer of 2023.
*Description Summary: * The Estimator position requires advanced math skills, must be highly organized, critical thinking, detail oriented, has data analysis skills, and excellent time management and writing skills.
The Civil Estimator must be able to gather proposals, read, and understand blueprints, specifications, and related documents.
*Essential Duties / Responsibilities* * Takeoff self-performed work - mechanical, structural, architectural, civil components * Review and adjust productions for self-performed work * Manage solicitation of all disciplines * Review and input subcontractor and supplier quotes * Run bid day operations * Review specifications * Attend pre-bid meetings * Review and discuss scopes with subcontractors and suppliers * Prepare preliminary CPM schedules * Develop comparison matrix spreadsheets * Enter material pricing in estimate – including mechanical piping and appurtenances * Performs other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate *Preferred Education / Experience* * Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or construction-related field (or equivalent) * 5+ years related work experience in self-performing construction field (concrete, civil, and mechanical) * Ability to perform in a lead capacity * Excellent written and oral communications skills * Familiarity of industry practices and regulations ​*Special Skills* * Knowledge of Blue Beam, Windows Office Systems; particularly in Excel, Word and Outlook * Knowledge of Timberline Estimating or HCSS * Competent in specification, plan, and drawing reading and interpretations * Ability to prepare clear and concise oral and written communications * Demonstrated team and leadership skills _Prospect Construction, Inc.
