POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES:
Through a respectful, constructive and energetic style guided by the objectives of the company, the Staff Accountant provides the leadership necessary to ensure that the accounting department offers a level of service that exceeds both our internal and external customers' expectations.
This position is primarily responsible for notifications, bank reconciliations, data entry, reporting and must have the ability to be cross-trained in other areas of the accounting and billing department.
The incumbent is expected to communicate professionally with peers, supervisors, subordinates, vendors, customers, and the public, and to be respectful and courteous in the conduct of this position.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Minimum Education: High school graduation or GED required.
Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field preferred.
Certification(s) Required: N/A
Minimum Experience: Minimum 3 years accounting experience preferred.
Other Qualifications: Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, accounting, and IRS regulations and Must have a strong understanding of the accounting system and the theory behind the chart of accounts and recording structure.

Excellent oral and written communication skills required.
PC skills, including Windows, Word, Excel, Access, internet and email applications.
Must be able to adapt to software changes as they occur.
Ability to learn all functions of the claims processing software program as is necessary for billing functions and adapt to software changes as they occur.
Ability to enter data with accuracy and precision.
Basic accounting and mathematical skills.
High level of interpersonal skills to work effectively with others.
Ability to organize and recall large amounts of information including interactions with employees, agents, plan participants and clients.
