We’re seeking a dynamic High School English and Humanities Teacher for the 24/25 school year with proven expertise in English and Social Studies education.
This lead teaching position includes being in charge of developing and teaching two high school English classes that meet twice per week, two high school Humanities classes that meet once per week and one mixed middle school / high school elective class that meets once per week.
The English and Humanities Teacher will educate students with a focus on building an enthusiasm for the language and humanities as well as promoting a life-long love of learning.
The ideal candidate will establish and maintain a professional classroom environment while providing expert instruction to students in the diverse classrooms we have to offer.
* Demonstrate understanding of literary and historical eras across the United States and world.
* Knowledge of where to find curriculum materials and how to create curriculum
* Plan, deliver, and assess instruction in literature, writing, reading, and history at a high school level.
* Maintain accurate student records and grades.
* Have knowledge of all school policies, procedures and guidelines.
* Participate in school meetings such as departmental and curriculum committees.
* Discuss the latest developments in subjects with colleagues.
* Ability to work in mixed grade classrooms.
There is a chance that some elective classes will have middle school students.
Job Type: Part-time, 20-24 hours per week
