Offering second (and honestly smaller) bedroom for rent in incredibly located apartment with okay setup and meh neighbors.
The Unit:
Its a 2bed 1bath apartment in the heart of Missoula.
Central, next to the GFS, next to the Milwaukee trail with Mountain Line and UDash stops within two blocks.
Dishwasher, in unit washer and dryer, etc.
No AC during the summer (neighbors get AC units but I always managed with windows at night [more later]) and winter heat is baseboard electric.
Its a relatively new unit and in decent shape.
PM is not quite local and has a national opinion on the what the job of "management" looks like.
Parking is terrifyingly horrible but if you time it right there is usually a spot.
The situation: There are a couple of neighbors (in and around the building) that have ground on my last nerve, but I have been here for a couple of years and have seen neighbors come and go.
PM is not my favorite.
I am also in the process of setting up a move out of Montana during the summer.
This means that when July comes around, I will be giving in this lease.
Unless there is a new roommate to take it over, if they wanted it.
If you have a thicker skin for BS, then this unit could be a student's haven (in an insane economy, I'll grant you).
You would be getting the second bedroom which is a bit smaller, but if you are okay with furniture against walls there is room for a queen bed and a desk.
When I leave, take your pick.
Because it is smaller, I am discounting the rent a bit and also making it easier to move in and establish with the PM because rent has gone up 2 years running and could again in the summer.
I am relatively quiet and keep to myself.
I drink but don't party.
Smoke but only outside.
I read a lot and work at the University.
Queer (queer roommate preferred, always like keeping it in the family), liberal.
I spend most of my days working and most of my nights reading or watching TV.
I have everything but the second bedroom furnished at the moment.
Some furniture could stay when I leave depending on what I decide is worth moving.
Currently, total rent is $1400 (all fees from PM included).
There is also electricity and internet to split.
Electricity is usually high in the winter (heating) and I have gotten it down to $30/mo in the summer when I kill the heat and use nature to cool the apartment.
I don't kill myself but in the scorching days can require getting up early to shut windows.
You would be paying $600 a month, plus half of utilities listed.
I ask that you keep visitors to a minimum, and have some specific allergy requests in the kitchen, but its only for a few months and then the unit could be yours.
I am not in a rush to fill the room (I can cover rent on my own) but saving money for a big move could be really nice (hence the post).
