Purpose
The Maintenance Area Coordinator is responsible for the supervision of both the Electrical and Mechanical department.
They will support production operations by ensuring installation/modification of equipment, process troubleshooting and implementation of production efficiency improvements.
This position will also supervise, coordinate and lead employees and activities within the Mechanical Maintenance Department in the areas of preventative and predictive maintenance.
Key Responsibilities
Ensure safety of all employees and contractors working in operating unit or department by driving continuous improvement towards a true safety culture.
This includes supporting all corporate safety programs; developing SOP’s, identifying and eliminating hazards, and enforcing all safety rules
Supervise and develop maintenance department personnel, including training, performance management and scheduling activities
Supervise the electrical team
Lead manufacturing root cause analysis investigations on failures
Assist and participate with hiring, interviewing, selection and orientation process Schedule and assign preventative/predictive maintenance: including working with hydraulics, electrical, pneumatic, power-transmissions, welding, fabrication, vibration analysis, balancing, alignment, oil analysis and non-destructive testing (NDT)
Prepare departmental reports as requested
Work cooperatively with other departments to meet plant objectives, diagnose complex equipment problems, and meet plant goals
Maintain knowledge of industry-wide technological developments
Perform all duties in accordance with safety rules and regulations
Assist in capital planning for control systems replacement/upgrades
Work closely with corporate engineering on projects and corporate engineering automation team
Support automation technicians in situations where troubleshooting or technology may fall outside of their area of expertise
Work closely with Maintenance Manager and be able to run department in the absence.
Approve time and vacations throughout the department.

Required Qualifications
Associates degree and 5+ years of electrical, control systems, and/or predictive/preventative maintenance systems experience; or any equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position
Demonstrated supervisory or lead experience
Ability to work well with all levels of internal management, staff and vendors
Effective leadership, interpersonal, and motivational skills
Ability to use computer and supporting software for improvement processes, communication, timekeeping and analytical functions
Knowledge of safety, quality, and environmental requirements
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree
Electrical license
